Washington, D.C. (August 14, 2006)
-- Hitachi's new advertising campaign for its 1080i 42-inch
Plasma TV features a red-dressed fashion model and a
black-spotted white leopard.
The company has hired artist and photographer Jean-Paul Goude to
design the campaign, which will be displayed in print as well as
on TV.
"The elegant fashion model in
a rich red dress combined with the white leopard imagery was
chosen to communicate Hitachi's premium market position and
realistic picture quality while connecting with the consumer's
desire to purchase not only another television but a lifestyle,
highlighted by superior design," says Goude.
Will shoppers jump
for Hitachi's new set?
Not content with Goude's
artistry, Hitachi has also hired designer Azzadne Alaia to
create the dress and accessories worn by the model in the ads.
Hitachi is calling the campaign "Power Unleashed," saying it's
intended to emphasize the company's technology and improve its
brand. The spots (pun intended) will run nationally between
August 2006 and February 2007.
"We designed this campaign to illustrate how Hitachi's exclusive
next-generation plasma technologies allow consumers to
experience realistic HDTV digital signals with the highest
possible clarity for the absolute best home theater viewing
experience," says Daniel Lee, a Hitachi marketing vice
president.
