July 1: Malin Akerman, The HD Hottie

Washington, D.C. (July 1, 2010) -- Following our extremely popular contest, 'HD Hottie Hysteria,' we've started a new feature in which we will highlight a top female star every day. The gorgeous female will come from a program that can be seen in gorgeous high-def that very day.

Today's 'HD Hottie' is Malin Akerman, who stars tonight in high-def in Watchmen at 9 p.m. ET on HBO Zone.

The 32-year-old actress, who was born in Sweden, moved to Canada when she was two years ago. She became a model as a teenager and won the Ford Supermodel of Canada when she was 17. She soon moved to California and quickly scooped up roles in such movies as Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle and The Utopian Society.

But Malin's first big break came when she was cast as Ben Stiller's wild and crazy wife in the 2007 film, Heartbreak Kid. She followed that up with roles in 27 Dresses, Watchmen, Couples Retreat and The Proposal.

Malin has four films scheduled for 2010 including The Bang Bang Club and The Romantics. There's also talk of a Watchman 2 and Malin has expressed interest in playing in The Avengers remake.
