Today's 'HD Hottie' is Jessica Alba, who stars tonight on Late Night With David Letterman at 11:35 p.m. ET on CBS.
The 29-year-old actress, who was born in Pomona, California, just outside Los Angeles, got into acting as a child after overcoming several physical maladies including repeated pneumonia. She was first noticed by viewers in James Cameron's TV series, Dark Angel, which aired from 200-2002.

But Alba quickly captured the hearts of moviegoers as well in such films as Sin City, Fantastic Four, Honey, Into the Blue and Good Luck Chuck.
She is scheduled to appear in the Sin City sequel, to be released in 2010. She will also be in the Meet the Fockers sequel, which she is now filming, and her film, Valentine's Day, is now available on Blu-ray.
Jessica generated controversy this year with her role as a hooker in The Killer Inside Me and she will appear in Machete, a Robert Rodriguez film that will open on September 3.
