October 6: Kristen Bell, The HD Hottie

Washington, D.C. (October 6, 2009) -- Following our extremely popular contest, 'HD Hottie Hysteria,' we've started a new feature in which we will highlight a top female star every day. The gorgeous female will come from a program that can be seen in gorgeous high-def that very day.

Today's 'HD Hottie' is Kristen Bell, who stars tonight in high-def on The Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien at 11:35 p.m. ET on NBC.

The 29-year-old actress, who was born in Huntington Woods, Michigan, started as a child actress, getting work in local Detroit theaters. She got her first big break in 2001 when she was cast in the Lifetime movie, Gracie's Choice. She was later cast opposite Val Kilmer in the film Spartan and then she won the title role in the WB drama, Veronica Mars, in 2004.

Veronica Mars lasted three seasons and Kristen has since guest starred in NBC's Heroes and the summer movie hit, Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Her last film was Fanboys, but there's talk of a movie version of Veronica Mars, but we'll see. There's also a report that she will star in the musical version of Heathers.

Her most recent film, Couples Retreat, is now playing in theaters.
