November 12: Penelope Cruz, The HD Hottie

Washington, D.C. (November 12, 2009) -- Following our extremely popular contest, 'HD Hottie Hysteria,' we've started a new feature in which we will highlight a top female star every day. The gorgeous female will come from a program that can be seen in gorgeous high-def that very day.

Today's 'HD Hottie' is Penelope Cruz, who stars tonight in high-def on The Jay Leno Show on NBC at 10 p.m. ET.

The 35-year-old actress, who was born in Spain, started acting in the early 1990s, playing small parts in French and Spanish soap operas. She got her first big break in Belle Epoque, a 1992 movie which won an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

Cruz' first U.S. film was All the Pretty Horses with Matt Damon and she later won critical praise in such movies as Vanilla Sky and Volver. She also appeared in Woody Allen's Vicky Christina Barcelona.

Penelope's next film will be Rob Marshall's Nine, which is scheduled for release on December 18, and she has agreed to a small part in Sex and the City 2.
