Elisha Cuthbert: Today's HD Hottie

Washington, D.C. (July 25, 2008) -- Following our extremely popular contest, 'HD Hottie Hysteria,' we've started a new feature in which we will highlight a top female star every day. The gorgeous female will come from a program that can be seen in gorgeous high-def that very day.

Today's 'HD Hottie' is Elisha Cuthbert, who stars tonight in high-def in Old School at 8 p.m. ET on TNT.

The 25-year-old actress, who was born in Canada, got her first big break when she was cast as Kiefer Sutherland's daughter in the premiere season of Fox's 24. After playing the damsel-in-distress role for several seasons on 24, Elisha branched out with starring roles in Old School, The Quiet and The Girl Next Door.

She auditioned for but was rejected for several high-profile films such as Spider-man (she would have played Kirsten Dunst's character) and Superman Returns (Lois Lane). But she rebounded with starring roles in House of Wax (with Paris Hilton) and Captivity. She reportedly will return to 24 either during the next season or a movie version of the terrorist drama.
