May 20: Marisa Tomei, The HD Hottie!

Washington, D.C. (May 20, 2009) -- Following our extremely popular contest, 'HD Hottie Hysteria,' we've started a new feature in which we will highlight a top female star every day. The gorgeous female will come from a program that can be seen in gorgeous high-def that very day.

Today's 'HD Hottie' is Marisa Tomei, who stars tonight in high-def on The Wrestler on cable and satellite HD VOD at various times.

The 44-year-old actress, who was born in Brooklyn, New York, got her first big break with a role in the daytime CBS soap As the World Turns. But she really got going when she was cast as Joe Pesci's girlfriend in the 1992 comedy My Cousin Vinny. Marisa won an Oscar for Best Supporting Performance for her role.

In recent years, she has reinvented herself as a character actress, playing in such indie films as Before the Devil Knows You're Dead and The Wrestler, in which she played a stripper opposite Mickey Rourke's washed-up pro wrestler. Marisa was nominated for another Best Supporting Oscar for her role in The Wrestler, but lost to Penelope Cruz.
