August 11: Eva Mendes, The HD Hottie!

Washington, D.C. (August 11, 2009) -- Following our extremely popular contest, 'HD Hottie Hysteria,' we've started a new feature in which we will highlight a top female star every day. The gorgeous female will come from a program that can be seen in gorgeous high-def that very day.

Today's 'HD Hottie' is Eva Mendes, who stars tonight in high-def in We Own the Night on Starz 11:05 p.m. ET.

The 35-year-old actress, who was born in Miami, started acting in music videos before getting her first big break in 2001 in Training Day with Denzel Washington.

Mendes has since starred in such movies as Once Upon a Time, Hitch, We Own the Night and Out of Time (again with Denzel Washington.) She recently grabbed headlines for appearing without clothes in a print ad campaign for PETA.

Her most recent film was The Spirit, based on a Frank Miller graphic novel. She also starred in The Women, released in December 2008, and she is now starring in a steamy advertising campaign for Calvin Klein.
