May 4: Scarlett Johansson, The HD Hottie

Washington, D.C. (May 4, 2009) -- Following our extremely popular contest, 'HD Hottie Hysteria,' we've started a new feature in which we will highlight a top female star every day. The gorgeous female will come from a program that can be seen in gorgeous high-def that very day.

Today's 'HD Hottie' is Scarlett Johansson, who stars tonight in high-def in Ghost World at 6:05 p.m. ET on HDNet Movies.

The 24-year-old actress, who was born in New York, began as a child actress, appearing in such movies as Ghost World and The Horse Whisperer.

But her first starring role was in Sofia Coppola's 2003 film, Lost In Translation, opposite Bill Murray. The movie made her Hollywood's new 'It Girl' and she was soon cast in a slew of films including The Island, The Black Dahlia and Woody Allen's Match Point.

She recently teamed again with Woody in the Oscar-nominated Vicky Christina Barcelona, and she recently released her first solo album, Anywhere I Lay My Head.

Scarlett also stars in He's Just Not That Into You, which opened in February and will soon be released on Blu-ray disc. And she will be in the new Iron Man movie, which opens next year.
