March 3: Sofia Vergara, The HD Hottie

Washington, D.C. (March 3, 2010) -- Following our extremely popular contest, 'HD Hottie Hysteria,' we've started a new feature in which we will highlight a top female star every day. The gorgeous female will come from a program that can be seen in gorgeous high-def that very day.

Today's 'HD Hottie' is Sofia Vergara, who stars tonight in high-def in Modern Family at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.

The 37-year-old actress, who was born in Columbia, was discovered by a photographer while walking on a Columbian beach. She soon became a model, appearing in both print and TV commercials.

But Sofia's first big break in the U.S. came when she was cast in the opening episode of season four of HBO's Entourage. She later was cast in several TV shows and movies including Dirty Sexy Money, Men in Trees, Four Brothers, Lords of Dogtown and Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns.

Sofia is now starring in the ABC sitcom Modern Family, playing wife to Ed O'Neill's Jay.
