Friday's HD Hottie: Charlize Theron

Washington, D.C. (September 19, 2008) -- Following our extremely popular contest, 'HD Hottie Hysteria,' we've started a new feature in which we will highlight a top female star every day. The gorgeous female will come from a program that can be seen in gorgeous high-def that very day.

Today's 'HD Hottie' is the Charlize Theron, who stars tonight in high-def in 15 Minutes at 8 p.m. on HDNet Movies.

The 33-year-old actress, who was born in South Africa, started as a fashion model in Italy. She later moved to Los Angeles where she was discovered by a casting director at 19 while trying to deposit a check at a bank. Her stunning good looks quickly netted her roles in such movies as The Devil's Advocate, 15 Minutes and Cider House Rules.

But she won the critics over with her portrayal of serial killer Aileen Wuomos in the 2003 film Monster. The film also provided her with her first Oscar for Best Actress. Following Monster, Charlize has continued to broaden her horizons playing a sexual harassment victim in North Country and a small town police detective in In the Valley of Elah.

Charlize's latest film is Hancock, also starring Will Smith, which opened during summer.
