However, last month, we discontinued the feature and many of you have asked why. At the time, I explained the reasons in our daily 'Swanni Sez' newsletter and on our Twitter page at http://www.twitter.com/swanniontv But I still get e-mails inquiring about the Hottie page so I thought I would briefly outline the major reason for its cancellation here.
It was a money loser
While the Hottie feature attracted a large number of readers (viewers?), it didn't generate much money, certainly not enough to warrant the time and effort to publish it daily, along with our daily TV listings which featured links to the day's Hotties. It seems -- and what a surprise, huh? -- that readers came to the page only to gaze lovingly at the Hottie's picture. They rarely clicked on our Google ads, which is the lifeblood of our site. Without revenue from the Google ads, folks, we can't exist. And the Hottie page simply wasn't bringing in the bucks, according to our site analytics.

Where, oh where, is the HD Hottie?
I've known this for some time, but I kept the feature going because I realized how popular it was with new and long-time readers. But at some point, everything has to pull its own weight and the Hottie page wasn't doing it.
There were a few secondary reasons for the cancellation, such as being the father of a 14-month-old daughter. I had always planned to cut the Hottie when my daughter became old enough to read the site. So it's had an expiration date for some time now. Combine that thought with the dismal Google ad numbers, well, it became an easy call to eliminate it now.
So there you go. The Hottie is gone; she's not coming back. But she will be well remembered, I'm sure.
