Naomi Watts: Today's HD Hottie

Washington, D.C. (July 13, 2008) -- Following our extremely popular contest, 'HD Hottie Hysteria,' we've started a new feature in which we will highlight a top female star every day. The gorgeous female will come from a program that can be seen in gorgeous high-def that very day.

Today's 'HD Hottie' is Naomi Watts, who stars tonight in high-def on King Kong on TNT at 9 p.m. ET and Eastern Promises on Cinemax at 8:15 p.m.

The 39-year-old actress, who was born in England, got her first big break with a supporting role in the 1991 film Flirting, which also starred Nicole Kidman, who has become a long-time friend. But after bouncing around from film to film, she became an overnight star for her dazzling performance in David Lynch's 2001 Mulholland Drive. She was nominated for an Oscar for her work.

After Mulholland Drive, Watts was in hot demand in Hollywood and she was soon cast in several films including King Kong, 21 Grams, Eastern Promises, and the two Ring films which were blockbuster hits.

She reportedly will play Tippi Hedren's role in a remake of Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds, but no release dates have been announced.
