January 15: Evan Rachel Wood, The HD Hottie

Washington, D.C. (January 15, 2010) -- Following our extremely popular contest, 'HD Hottie Hysteria,' we've started a new feature in which we will highlight a top female star every day. The gorgeous female will come from a program that can be seen in gorgeous high-def that very day.

Today's 'HD Hottie' is Evan Rachel Wood, who stars tonight in high-def in The Wrestler at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.

The 22-year-old actress, who was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, got her first big break at 15 when she starred in the critically-acclaimed Thirteen. She followed up that role with parts in Pretty Persuasion, The Upside of Anger and King of California.

She generated strong critical praise for her roles in Across the Universe and The Wrestler. Her starring performance in Woody Allen's Whatever Works, which also stars Larry David of HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm, was well received this summer. She also played a vampire Queen in HBO's True Blood in season two.

Evan recently announced her engagement to boyfriend Marilyn Manson and she's expected to return to True Blood in season three next year.
