Consumer Reports says its high-def picture is "excellent."
By Phillip Swann

Washington, D.C. (December 1, 2006) -- Looking for a flat-screen HDTV that offers a picture so clear that you won't believe your eyes?

Well, then, you might want to check out JVC's 40-inch
LT-40FN97. rated the top LCD HDTV in the 40-inch or larger category by Consumer Reports. In a recent survey of 112 high-def sets, the JVC LCD was one of only 12 sets whose HD picture was rated "excellent."

The set can be found online for as low as $1,600, but usually is priced at slightly more than $2,000.

The publication says the flat-screen HDTV delivers "excellent picture quality from the HD component inputs." However, the set also delivers a "very good" picture when displaying standard-definition or a DVD.

Consumer Reports also says the remote is easy to use in low lighting.
