LG to Launch Google TV-Enabled HDTVs
By Swanni

Washington, D.C. (May 7, 2012) -- LG Electronics will launch Net-enabled HDTVs with a Google TV platform in two weeks, reports Reuters, quoting a senior LG executive.

Google TV allows you to search the Internet and access Google-owned services such as YouTube on your TV screen. After failing earlier with Google TV-enabled set-tops, the company is now trying again with TV sets that come with the Net service.

"Production of Google TVs will start from May 17 from our factory in Mexico and U.S. consumers will be able to buy the product from the week of May 21," said Ro Seogho, executive vice president of LG's TV business unit,  according to Reuters.

The executive did not reveal any pricing or screen size details for the Google TV sets. However, ZDNet notes that Amazon.com is selling a
47-inch LG set w/Google TV for for $1,599 and a 55-inch one for $2,099.99.
The site says the sets will ship in two weeks.
