Washington, D.C.
(May 2, 2012)
-- KFYR-TV, the NBC affiliate in Bismarck, North Dakota, is now
broadcasting its local news programs in High-Definition.
The station, which is owned by Hoak Media, made the switch to HD
newscasts on Monday, April 30.
"What we`ve always delivered is
good, comprehensive news. What we haven`t always delivered, is a
pretty picture. This is a pretty picture," stated station News
Director Monica Hannan at the company's web site.
"The customer is better served by going HD. Much clearer
picture, better sound and everything and we`ve been working hard
at it," added General Manager Dick Heidt.
There are now more than 500 local
stations producing local news programs in high-def.
