Kentucky NBC Station Switches to HD News

Washington, D.C. (June 4, 2012) -- WPSD-TV, NBC affiliate in western Kentucky, is now broadcasting its local news programs in High-Definition.

The station made the announcement at its web site. WPSD switched to high-def news programs yesterday with its 5 p.m. newscasts.

"WPSD Local 6 is happy to provide viewers with an updated studio look and improved graphics. The station also added HD cameras, improved studio lights, graphics computers and HD production control equipment," the station stated at WPSDlocal6.com.

WPSD, which is based in Paducah, also serves parts of Illinois and Missouri.

There are now more than 500 local stations producing local news programs in high-def.
