Microsoft is planning a "major announcement" on Monday and some
reports are saying the company will launch a Windows 8 tablet to
compete with Apple's iPad.
"This will be a major Microsoft
announcement — you will not want to miss it," the company said
in a mysterious e-mail to the media.
The New York Times is reporting that Microsoft will launch the
tablet, but others say the location of the press conference (Los
Angeles) suggests the company could announce a new entertainment
venture.
Other analysts are speculating that Microsoft could do both --
launch a Windows 8 tablet that features a new entertainment
service that could compete with everyone from Apple to Netflix.
Stay tuned.
