Washington, D.C. (April 26, 2010) -- High-Definition TVs are now in more than 40 million U.S. homes and there are scores of high-def programming choices.

But which shows should you watch? And why?

Every day here at TVPredictions.com, I scan the HD programming aisles and serve up 10 programs so good -- so hot! -- that you can't miss them. Sports, movies, primetime comedies and drama -- they're all there and in beautiful high-def.

We call this list, "The Hottest Shows in HDTV!" And here they are for Monday, April 26, 2010: (All times Eastern -- and don't forget the link below to today's 'HD Hottie -- in fact, today there are 9 of them!

1. MLB Baseball
Dodgers at Mets.
ESPN, 7 p.m.

2. Dancing With the Stars (new)
America's favorite dancing soap opera continues with a B celebrity lineup overflowing with such has-beens and wanna-bes as ~~Reality TV addict Kate Gosselin~~, ~~90210's Shannen Doherty~~, the incredibly sagging Pamela Anderson; ~~soap opera star Aiden Turner~~; ESPN page-view machine Erin Andrews, Pussycat doll Nicole Scherzinger and ~~Buzz Aldrin~~ (!). Tonight, the final 7 contestants will dance off. Speaking of getting off, uh, dancing off, this season is co-hosted by the bodacious (and alliterative) Brooke Burke, a former DWTS winner.

5. 24 (new)
Liberal media watchdog alert! Now that Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) has gone rogue after his one night stand/girlfriend was killed by terrorists, can the Russians stop him? Can President Taylor stop him? Can Fox stop him before pulling the plug on the show? Method (and nuance) actor Michael Madsen guest stars.

6. Trauma (new)
No, it's not a show about what happens to NBC chief Jeff Zucker after he gets his morning ratings report. It's actually a fast-paced drama about a team of emergency workers who save lives in between some conjugal sack hopping. Tonight's program descript: "A problem with dispatch sends the medics to the wrong address." Are you sure this show isn't set in DC?

7. Gossip Girl
The Ice Cream girls are back with new episodes! Tonight's program descript says Serena's (Blake Lively, pictured right.) father makes an expected visit to Manhattan. Serena's Dad is played by a Baldwin brother; uh-oh.
