August 23: Swanni's 10 Hottest Shows In HDTV!

Washington, D.C. (August 23, 2010) -- High-Definition TVs are now in more than 40 million U.S. homes and there are scores of high-def programming choices.

But which shows should you watch? And why?

Every day here at TVPredictions.com, I scan the HD programming aisles and serve up 10 programs so good -- so hot! -- that you can't miss them. Sports, movies, primetime comedies and drama -- they're all there and in beautiful high-def.

We call this list, "The Hottest Shows in HDTV!" And here they are for Monday, August 23,  2010: (All times Eastern -- and don't forget the link below to today's 'HD Hottie -- in fact, today there are 7 of them!

1. Spider-man 2
Tobey Maguire stars as the webbed wonder who must battle a tentacled creature who looks suspiciously like Alfred Molina in the worst Halloween costume ever. Still fun, though, and Kirsten Dunst is back as Spidey's obligatory hot on-and-off girlfriend. Elizabeth Banks is also on hand as a obligatory hot newsroom assistant.

2. Little League Baseball

The elimination game in the LL World Series. Teams to be announced. By whom, I'm not sure, but they will be announced.

3. NFL Football
Cardinals at Titans in pre-season action.
ESPN, 8 p.m.

4. Bachelor Pad (new)
Nineteen former contestants (i.e -- losers) from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette reunite to engage in a serious of challenges. (When they finally have to start working for a living, that will be a challenge.) Melissa Rycroft is the show's co-host. Tonight's program descript: "The remaining contestants go on overnight dates in Las Vegas and participate in a high-speed chase for immunity." In Vegas, you'll need immunity if you participate in a high-speed chase.

ABC, 8 p.m.

Annie confronts Debbie Harry about their recent problems. Oh, sorry, Debbie and Harry.

5. The 2010 Miss Universe Pageant
Obligatory hot chicks from 80 different countries compete for the big prize. Natalie Morales and Bret Michaels, who shows up on NBC more often than Jay Leno and Brian Williams combined these days, are the co-hosts. Miss USA Rima
Fakih is one of the favorites.

6. The Closer (new)
Program descript: "A
bank robbery leaves a security guard dead and a lot of unanswered questions." I would think the security guard's family would be asking most of the questions, but probably not in this show.

7. Gossip Girl
Tonight's program descript says Serena (Blake Lively, pictured right) has a problem with Jenny's deception.
