By Swanni

Washington, D.C. (September 6, 2010) -- High-Definition TVs are now in more than 40 million U.S. homes and there are scores of high-def programming choices.

But which shows should you watch? And why?

Every day here at TVPredictions.com, I scan the HD programming aisles and serve up 10 programs so good -- so hot! -- that you can't miss them. Sports, movies, primetime comedies and drama -- they're all there and in beautiful high-def.

We call this list, "The Hottest Shows in HDTV!" And here they are for Monday, September 6,  2010: (All times Eastern -- and don't forget the link below to today's 'HD Hottie -- in fact, today there are 9 of them!

1. U.S. Open Tennis
Women's fourth round play; Maria Sharapova is slated to play Caroline Wozniacki in what's being called the 'Glamour Battle.'

CBS, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., ESPN 2, 7 p.m

2. MLB Baseball
Marlins at Phillies or Rays at Red Sox.
MLB Network, 7 p.m.

3. College Football
Boise State vs. Virginia Tech.
ESPN, 8 p.m.

4. Bachelor Pad (new)
Nineteen former contestants (i.e -- losers) from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette reunite to engage in a serious of challenges. (When they finally have to start working for a living, that will be a challenge.) Melissa Rycroft is the show's co-host. Tonight's program descript: "A game of spin the bottle."

ABC, 8 p.m.

Bonus Picks:

90210
Teddy seeks revenge after learning Spence tried to bribe Silver (pictured, right). Hi-yo, Silver!

See our 'HD Hottie' profile of 90210's Annalynne McCord.
CW, 8 p.m.

Underworld
Kate Beckinsale plays a leather-clad, pistol-packin' vampire whose mission in life (or, shall we say, the afterlife) is to rid the world of werewolves. Oh, what's that? I had you at "Kate Beckinsale plays a leather-clad..."? Well never mind on the rest of the stuff. Good movie, by the way.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Kate Beckinsale.

Syfy, 8:30 p.m.

The Informant
Matt Damon shines as real life corporate whistle blower Mark Whitacre who decided to wet his own whistle when no one was looking. Directed by Steven Soderbergh, the film's account of the Archer Daniels Midland price fixing scandal of the 1990s is sometimes a bit corny (pun intended), but is still entertaining from beginning to end. Don't miss the closing credits; you'll never believe what Whitacre is doing now.
HBO, 9 p.m.

Public Enemies
Johnny Depp shines in this fast-paced Michael Mann film loosely based on the life of 1930s bank robber John Dillinger. (And we do mean loosely.) While Mann escapes from the facts more often than Dillinger escaped from prison, the movie is undeniably entertaining and the French actress Marion Cotillard makes for an alluring and obligatory hot Dillinger girlfriend. Christian Bale is also good as G-Man Melvin Purvis, although Mann super-inflates Purvis' role (and competence) in the Dillinger investigation.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Marion Cotillard.
HBO
Signature, 9 p.m.

5. Lie to Me (new)
Program descript: "A beautiful widow is accused of murder." A beautiful widow bumped off her husband? Talk about shooting fish in a barrel.
Fox, 9 p.m.

Tonight's program descript says Blair (Leighton Meester, pictured left.) must decide if she wants to have a murder with Chuck. Judging from this picture...well, maybe not.
