By Swanni

Washington, D.C. (October 5, 2009) -- High-Definition TVs are now in more than 40 million U.S. homes and there are scores of high-def programming choices.

But which shows should you watch? And why?

Every day here at TVPredictions.com, I scan the HD programming aisles and serve up 10 programs so good -- so hot! -- that you can't miss them. Sports, movies, primetime comedies and drama -- they're all there and in beautiful high-def.

We call this list, "The Hottest Shows in HDTV!" And here they are for Monday, October 5, 2009: (All times Eastern -- and don't forget the link below to today's 'HD Hottie -- in fact, today there are 6 of them!

1. Heroes (new)
America's favorite (albeit quirky) super heroes are back with new episodes. Tonight, the program descript says: "Angela tries to help Nathan remember his past while Tracy tries to get her old job back." For a show that's about the future, they certainly dwell a lot on the past.

2. House (new)
The cranky doc is back on staff after that little bout at the detox clinic. Tonight, the crew treats an African politician who's played by James Earl Jones. America's favorite dancing soap opera continues with a B celebrity lineup overflowing with such has-beens and wanna-bes as Debi Mazur, Donny Osmond, Joanna Krupa, Melissa Joan Hart, Michael Irvin and Tom 'The Hammer" Delay who will try to gerrymander his way to victory. Kathy Ireland and Ashley Hamilton have gotten the boot, but tonight the remaining 13 contestants will dance-off!
