October 19: Swanni's 10 Hottest Shows In HDTV!

By Swanni

Washington, D.C. (October 19, 2009) -- High-Definition TVs are now in more than 40 million U.S. homes and there are scores of high-def programming choices.

But which shows should you watch? And why?

Every day here at TVPredictions.com, I scan the HD programming aisles and serve up 10 programs so good -- so hot! -- that you can't miss them. Sports, movies, primetime comedies and drama -- they're all there and in beautiful high-def.

We call this list, "The Hottest Shows in HDTV!" And here they are for Monday, October 19, 2009: (All times Eastern -- and don't forget the link below to today's 'HD Hottie -- in fact, today there are 10 of them!

Bonus Pick:
MLB Baseball Playoff Doubleheader

Yanks at Angels in game three at 4 p.m. on Fox: Dodgers at Phillies in game four at 8 p.m. on TBS.
TBS, Fox, starts at 4 p.m.

1. Heroes
(new)
America's favorite (albeit quirky) super heroes are back! Tonight, will Claire (Hayden Panettiere) reciprocate last week's lesbian kiss from her roommate (Madeline Zima)? Will Peter find a healer for Hiro? Will Emma reach her potential? Will Jeff Zucker pull the plug on the show if the ratings doesn't improve -- and replace it with a non-HD piece of reality junk? Oh, oh so many questions.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Hayden Panettiere.

NBC, 8 p.m.

2. House (new)
The cranky doc is back on staff after that little bout at the detox clinic. Tonight's program descript: "House confronts some ghosts from his past." Well, that would make him a haunted House, wouldn't it?

See our 'HD Hottie' profile of House's Olivia Wilde.

Fox, 8 p.m.

3. Dancing With the Stars (new)
America's favorite dancing soap opera continues with a B celebrity lineup overflowing with such has-beens and wanna-bes as Donny Osmond, Joanna Krupa, Melissa Joan Hart and Michael Irvin.
Kathy Ireland, Tom 'The Hammer' Delay, Debi Mazur, Chuck Liddell and Ashley Hamilton have gotten the boot, but tonight the remaining 10 contestants go toe-to-toe with the Argentine Tango and a group Hustle. (I think the real hustle is how ABC picks a winner here, but that's a story for another day.)
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Joanna Krupa.
ABC, 8 p.m.

Bonus Pick:
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider
Angelina Jolie stars as a skin-tight leather-wearing adventurer who must find Pandora's Box before a mad scientist can use it to rule the world. (If you ask me, Jolie could rule the world with the outfits she wears in the film.) Jolie shines in this fun romp and 300's Gerard Butler carries his weight as her male thorn in the side. (Although I'm sure he would have preferred to put his male thorn elsewhere.)
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Angelina Jolie.
The Movie Channel, 8 p.m.

4. NFL Football
Broncos at Chargers.
ESPN, 8:30 p.m.

5. Gossip Girl (new)
Blair (Leighton Meester) battles with Vanessa over who will give the freshman toast at NYU. Meanwhile, Serena (Blake Lively) try to help Carter; he could use some help...oh, not the ex-president. A guy with the first name of Carter. Never mind.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of GG's Blake Lively.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of GG's Leighton Meester
CW, 9 p.m.

6. Lie to Me (new)
Program descript: "The Lightman Group questions a man suspected of killing his wife; determined to prove his innocence, the man takes drastic measures that put the team's lives in danger." Boy, talk about being an ingrate.
Fox, 9 p.m.

Bonus Pick:
Hancock
Will Smith stars as a cranky super hero who seems more interested in getting drunk than saving lives until PR whiz Jason Bateman whips him into shape. The movie offers some fun action and insightful satire until a late plot twist involving Charlize Theron either ruins it for you or makes it better. You be the judge.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Charlize Theron.
Starz Edge, 9 p.m.

7. The Jay Leno Show (new)
Jaws is back -- and tonight he's got Rod Stewart.
NBC, 10 p.m.

8. CSI: Miami (new)
The crew investigates a deadly outbreak in Miami. Good luck in getting any vaccine from the feds.
CBS, 10 p.m.

9
. Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien
Tonight's guests include
Sienna Miller.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Sienna Miller.
NBC, 11:35 p.m.

10. Late Night With David Letterman
Tonight's guests include Vince Vaughn
. Perhaps the always-be-cruising Mr. Vaughn can give Dave a few tips. (Not that Dave needs them, apparently.)
CBS, 11:35 p.m.
