By Swanni

Washington, D.C. (October 26, 2009) -- High-Definition TVs are now in more than 40 million U.S. homes and there are scores of high-def programming choices.

But which shows should you watch? And why?

Every day here at TVPredictions.com, I scan the HD programming aisles and serve up 10 programs so good -- so hot! -- that you can't miss them. Sports, movies, primetime comedies and drama -- they're all there and in beautiful high-def.

We call this list, "The Hottest Shows in HDTV!" And here they are for Monday, October 26, 2009: (All times Eastern -- and don't forget the link below to today's 'HD Hottie -- in fact, today there are 9 of them!

1. Jumper
Hayden Christensen stars as a young man who can transport himself anywhere in the world. Even more amazing, he's not charged a second bag fee. Samuel L. Jackson, Rachel Bilson and Diane Lane shine in support.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Rachel Bilson.

Cinemax West, 7:30 p.m.

2. Heroes
(new)
America's favorite (albeit quirky) super heroes are back! Tonight,  Claire (Hayden Panettiere) and her lesbian roommate Gretchen (Madeline Zima) are hazed by their college classmates. What, for a lesbian kiss? Like that hasn't happen before on campus.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Hayden Panettiere.

NBC, 8 p.m.

3. Dancing With the Stars (new)
America's favorite dancing soap opera continues with a B celebrity lineup overflowing with such has-beens and wanna-bes as Donny Osmond, Joanna Krupa, Melissa Joan Hart and Michael Irvin.
Kathy Ireland, Tom 'The Hammer' Delay, Natalie Coughlin, Debi Mazur, Chuck Liddell and Ashley Hamilton have gotten the boot, but tonight the remaining 9 contestants will dance the jitterbug or the waltz -- assuming the swine flu cooperates.

ABC, 8 p.m.

4. NFL Football
Eagles visit the hapless Redskins. Yes, that's right, they have no hap whatsoever.
ESPN, 8:30 p.m.

5. Gossip Girl (new)
Program descript: "Blair (Leighton Meester) tries to help Chuck while Dan watches one of Olivia's sex scenes." Hmm, shouldn't Dan be watching one of Leighton Meester's sex scenes while Olivia tries to help Chuck?

6. Lie to Me (new)
The Lightman Group investigates when a high school student threatens murder.
Fox, 9 p.m.

Bonus Pick:
A Mighty Heart
Angelina Jolie is breathtaking (and almost unrecognizable wearing black tinted contacts) as Mariane Pearl, the wife of Danny Pearl, the Wall Street Journal reporter who was killed by terrorists in Pakistan. The film traces Mariane's futile search for evidence that Danny is still alive and Jolie makes you feel her every agonizing emotion. Great movie; great performance.

7. The Jay Leno Show (new)
Jaws is back -- and tonight he's got Dr. Phil. Barf bags recommended.

8. Get Smart
Steve Carell (The Office) delivers the funny in this remake of the popular 1960s TV spy spoof. Anne Hathaway plays his obligatory hot sidekick, Agent 99, and Dwayne "Don't Call Me the Rock, Damn It!" Johnson is surprisingly good in support as a fellow agent. LOL flick for the entire family.

HBO, 10 p.m.
