Washington, D.C. (July 31 2008) -- WHDH-TV, the NBC station in Boston, this week began delivering its local newscasts in High-Definition over the weekend.

The station made the switch to high-def on July 29, unveiling a new studio and high-def graphics.

WHDH is the second Boston area station to switch to high-def newscasts. WCVB-TV, the ABC station in Boston, made the switch in May 2007.

There are now roughly 100 local stations nationwide that offer high-def newscasts.
