Live NHL HD Games Now On Roku, PS3

Washington, D.C. (November 11, 2010) -- Roku, Boxee and PlayStation 3 owners can now watch the NHL GameCenter Live package in High-Definition without subscribing to a cable or satellite TV service.

The National Hockey League said yesterday that the package, which offers roughly 40 'out-of-market' games weekly, will be streamed in high-def to owners of the Internet TV set-tops.

"In order to serve our fans, we are continuing to respond to the convergence of technology, media and consumer behavior," said Perry Cooper, NHL Senior Vice President of Digital Media. "With today's announcement, we are able to deliver NHL GameCenter LIVE and NHL Vault to an extensive consumer base and significantly broaden the availability of our products to our fans across the world."

The NHL said fans that have an annual subscription to NHL GameCenter LIVE ($169) and a free PlayStation Network account can download the NHL application for $9.99 and access it under the video category icon on the XMB™ (XrossMediaBar) menu.

NHL GameCenter Live is also available now for no additional cost to existing subscribers who own a Roku or use Boxee software or the upcoming Boxee Box by D-Link. You can link your existing subscription to the NHL GameCenter Live app. on either Roku or Boxee platforms.

The league said NHL GameCenter Live will also launch for the iPad tablet in the coming weeks.
