In round one of the Rear Projection division of HDTV Hottie Hysteria -- our first annual elimination tournament to determine the hottest female star in high-def -- we pit Kidman (first seed in the rear projection division) against Panettiere (eighth seed).

Kidman (above), the star of movies such as Eyes Wide Shut, has experience on her opponent.


But Panettiere (above), who stars on NBC's Heroes, is developing a strong following on the Net.
