(February 21, 2007)
-- Olevia's new 37-inch LCD HDTV offers a very good
picture quality for a lower price than similar-sized
flat-panel sets.
That's the conclusion of a review by Consumer Reports magazine.
In the February issue, the publication reports that although the Olevia 537H delivers a "very good" picture quality, "the picture wasn't as sharp as that of our top-rated sets."
But Consumer Reports says the 37-inch LCD, which retails for around $850, scored particularly high marks when playing movies.

The magazine also praised the set's wide viewing angle and "very good sound quality" with its built-in speakers.
On the negative side, CR says the set's on-screen display menu can be difficult to navigate and the connections are in the back and hard to reach. In addition, the Olevia comes with no printed manual; the user instructions are on a CD.
But overall, the magazine calls the 37-inch LCD a winner.
"Despite a few shortcomings, Olevia's 537H represents a good value in the 37-inch LCD category. It offers a winning combination of very good overall picture quality and a satisfying number of features. The inclusion of a VGA connection allows the TV to easily double as a PC monitor," Consumer Reports writes.
