The set-top, which Panasonic said will be available this spring, is the company's third-generation Blu-ray player. Model DMP-BD50, the player will support lossless Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio and Picture-in-Picture features.

Panasonic's new DMP-BD50 Blu-ray player.
The BD-Live features will enable viewers to download additional content such as movie trailers and movie-related interactive games via the Internet.
Several studios have announced plans to add those interactive features to discs later this spring. Earlier Blu-ray players -- except for the Play Station 3 -- can not support BD-Life.
The player also includes a SD Memory Card slot, which will allow for the transfer of HD camcorder and digital still images to the screen.
At $699, Panasonic's player will cost roughly $300 more than some entry-level Blu-ray players now available at retail.
