Panasonic Plasma HDTV Goes 'Hollywood'
Planet Hollywood will install 5,000 flat-screen sets across the nation.
By Phillip Swann

CES (January 10, 2007) -- Panasonic today announced that Planet Hollywood will install 5,000 Panasonic Plasma high-def sets at its new casino and resort in Las Vegas and restaurants nationwide.

The rollout will include 15 Panasonic 103-inch Plasmas at the Aladdin Hotel/Casino in Las Vegas, which is currently undergoing renovation. Upon completion of the renovation, the new hotel will be named Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

The 103-inch set, which retails for $69,999, was considered the world's largest non-commercial television until Sharp introduced a 108-inch set this week at the Consumer Electronics Show.

Smaller Panasonic Plasma sets (37-inch and 42-inch) will be installed in 5,000 Planet Hollywood guest rooms and restaurants nationwide.

Panasonic will also install five LED video panels on the Vegas Strip outside the hotel and casino.
