Did Teri Hatcher Get to E! On HDTV?
By

-- I read in Swanni's newsletter yesterday that E! Entertainment
will not show the Red Carpet Emmys show (this Sunday) in HDTV.
So INHD won't be able to show it in high-def.
(Editor's Note: INHD, a
high-def network, has broadcast the Live From the Red Carpet
Emmys pre-awards show since 2003; the show was produced in
high-def by E!, which allowed INHD to air it in HD. However,
INHD said this week that it will not air the HDTV broadcast
because E! has decided not to produce it high-def. See
Emmys
for more.)
The Red Carpet show was great. On my HDTV, you could see
the TV stars as they really look. The picture was unbelievable.
It was like seeing them in my living room.

Teri Hatcher's forehead veins were visible in HD.
But I think that the stars got upset that you could see them as
they look in real life. Swanni reported last year about Teri
Hatcher's bulging veins on her forehead as she walked down the
red carpet and Donald Trump's pasty face. I think they put
pressure on E! not to show the show in HDTV.
Maybe that's not the case, but maybe it is, too. Either way, I
wish the E channel would change their mind and show the Red
Carpet show in HDTV!
(Editor's Note:
Sarah Goldstein, a spokeswoman for E!, told TVPredictions.com
Thursday that the channel's HD awards coverage is decided on a
"case by case basis." However, she said she could not explain
why E! will not broadcast this year's Emmys pre-awards show in
HD after having done so for three straight years. Pressed for a
specific reason, Goldstein responded: "What is this? Woodward
and Bernstein?" Goldstein said she would call back after trying
to get a better explanation. She had not returned the call as of
Saturday.)
