H-D-T-V, as in High-Definition TV.
White, the co-star of Wheel of Fortune, says she hates how she looks in high-def. The syndicated game show last month began broadcasting in HDTV.
"It
shows every line and wrinkle in your face," White, 49,
recently told The Dallas Morning News. "Makes you
look 20 times older than you are! Every little thing
shows. Everything. Every follicle. I'm scared to look at
it. I don't think I'm going to watch the show for a
while."

Vanna would like to remove the HDT
and V.
Her longtime Wheel partner, Pat Sajak, couldn't
agree more.
"Boy, I'm not a fan of HD personally," Sajak said.
"I'd like
some Barbra Streisand gauze. I'm not looking for
clarity. I want the Barbara Walters soft-focus lens. You
can barely see Barbara anymore. I want low-def. Low,
lower and lowest def."
However, Harry Friedman, Wheel's executive producer,
says high-def has improved the show.
"Everything just pops," says Friedman. "Everything just
looks so much better."
He added: "I
think a lot of talent tend to fear high-def out of a
lack of knowledge about what it will or will not do to
their image."
