ESPN's Poker Bets On HDTV
Popular gambling show goes high-def in July.

Washington, D.C. (April 19, 2007) -- ESPN's World Series of Poker will air in High-Definition starting this July.

That's according to an article by TV Week.

The publication reports that 32 hours of the popular gambling series will be presented in HD for the first time. The HD broadcast will include the Texas Hold 'Em contest and other World Series matches.

TV Week says World Series of Poker will be the first regular poker program in high-def. The game of poker has become a popular feature on several sports networks.

Earlier this week, ESPN announced that its morning talk shows, Mike and Mike and Cold Pizza, will go high-def on May 7.

TV Week says that ESPN will broadcast roughly 9,000 hours of high-def program in 2007.
