Post Xmas HDTV Deals -- Revealed!
Retailers look to clear
inventories before the new year.
By Phillip Swann
Washington, D.C. (December 27, 2006) --
Electronics stores are still
offering some big bargains on High-Definition TVs although the
holiday shopping season is officially over. The discounts
include two 42-inch Plasma HDTVs for just $1,000.
That's according to an article published today by TWICE
magazine.
CE retailers are looking to clear inventories and boost yearly
sales numbers before the start of the new year. While there are
fewer discounts now available, several high-def sets are still
priced at well below normal levels.
For instance, reports TWICE:
* Best Buy is selling a Maxent 50-inch Plasma HDTV Monitor for
$1,500.
* Circuit City is offering a Sylvania 42-inch Plasma HDTV for
$1,000.
* Nebraska Furniture Mart is selling a Haier 42-inch
Plasma HDTV for $1,000.
* Conn's is offering a Toshiba 32-inch LCD HDTV Monitor for
$600.
* HHGregg is selling an Olevia 37-inch LCD HDTV for $800.

Retailers and TV makers have reported that this year's sharp
price decline in flat-panel sets have also reduced profits. Both
Best Buy and Circuit City recently said that their third quarter
profits badly trailed last year and they expected that the
fourth quarter results will be equally disappointing.
Consequently, many industry analysts believe that retailers will
hold the line on further HDTV price cuts in early 2007.
