Samsung to Sell 3-D HDTVs
The sets are expected to be available in March.
By Swanni
The company made the announcement this week at the Consumer Electronics Show. At a press conference yesterday, Samsung executives said the two sets would be 42-inch and 50-inch models.

3-D could be coming to your home.
Charles Park, who heads Samsung's Plasma unit, said the company is still working on the pricing for the 3-D HDTVs. However, he promised that the sets would not carry a "premium" -- meaning they would not be more expensive than a non-3D set.
The two Plasma sets will come with special 3-D goggles and software. To get the 3-D effect, users will have to install the software on a PC and then connect the HDTV to the computer.
Park said Samsung is working on a solution that would eliminate the need for the PC hookup.
The official said there are many 3-D video games available, but only about 10 3-D DVD movies. But Park added that the company is talking to the studios about creating more content.
Samsung is not saying that it believes that 3-D will be the next big thing. But Park said "it could be an attractive feature if it's handled right."
