March 6: Swanni's 10 Hottest Shows In HDTV!

By Swanni

Washington, D.C. (March 6, 2010) -- High-Definition TVs are now in more than 40 million U.S. homes and there are scores of high-def programming choices.

But which shows should you watch? And why?

Every day here at TVPredictions.com, I scan the HD programming aisles and serve up 10 programs so good -- so hot! -- that you can't miss them. Sports, movies, primetime comedies and drama -- they're all there and in beautiful high-def.

We call this list, "The Hottest Shows in HDTV!" And here they are for Saturday, March 6, 2010. (All times Eastern -- and don't forget the link below to today's 'HD Hottie -- in fact, today there are 5 of them.)

1. College Basketball Tripleheader
West Virginia at Villanova, followed by Kansas at Missouri, followed by UCLA at Arizona State.
CBS, Noon.

2. College Basketball
Florida State at Miami, followed by South Carolina at Vanderbilt, followed by the Big South tournament final, followed by the Atlantic Sun tournament final, followed by the Ohio Valley tournament
ESPN 2, Noon.

3
. College Basketball Quadruple-header
Texas A&M at Oklahoma, followed by Syracuse at Louisville, followed by Texas at Baylor, followed by Tennessee at Mississippi State.

ESPN, Noon.

4. The Da Vinci Code
Tom Hanks stars in this convoluted but often interesting take on Dan Brown's book about Jesus being married and having kids. Married with kids on a carpenter's salary? Talk about your miracles!
TNT, 2 p.m.

5. The Eye
The breathtakingly beautiful Jessica Alba stars as a concert violinist (okay, this is a sci-fi/horror story so we can stretch the imagination a bit, can't we?) who suddenly sees frightening images after a double eye transplant. If you don't take this 'work of art' too seriously, sit back for a fun, cheesy time. The Mystery Science 3000 guys would love this movie -- so watch it and have your own MST3K party.

Showtime 6:20 p.m.

6.
He's Just Not That Into You
Any movie that stars Drew Barrymore, Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Anniston and Ginnifer Goodwin -- and is called He's Just Not That Into You -- has to be populated with a male cast that would be eligible for multiple Tony Awards, if you get my meaning. Oh, well, chicks liked it. Wonder why. Think it's because it gives them perverse pleasure to see obligatory hot women getting dumped? Nah.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Scarlett Johansson.

Cinemax, 7:45 p.m.

7. Twilight
Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Ashley Greene and various other obligatory hot teens star in this romantic spin on vampires and, well, teen romance, of course.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Ashley Greene.
Showtime
Showcase, 8 p.m.

8. College Basketball
Yes, more basketball. More! North Carolina at Duke.
ESPN, 9 p.m.

9. Hancock
Will Smith stars as a cranky super hero who seems more interested in getting drunk than saving lives until PR whiz Jason Bateman whips him into shape. The movie offers some fun action and insightful satire until a late plot twist involving Charlize Theron either ruins it for you or makes it better. You be the judge.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Charlize Theron.
Starz, 10:40 p.m.

10. Saturday Night Live (new)
Zach Galifianakis hosts with a musical interlude or two from Vampire Weekend.
NBC, 11:35 p.m.
