Home Theater magazine says you could easily
confuse Sharp's 56-inch
56DR650 DLP
rear-projection set for a flat-panel LCD.
"In the
space below the screen, speakers are hidden behind a
plastic mesh," the magazine said in a recent review.
"This, coupled with the elegant stand, helps make the
56DR650 one of the most attractive rear-projection sets
I can remember."
The publication's reviewer also praises the set's
high-def picture, but noted that the "color was a little
rich but very watchable." He added the set delivered
"plenty of detail (but) wasn't as sharp as other TVs
I've seen."
The set, which has a suggested retail of $3,300, also
displayed some video "noise" when playing a DVD.
"This noise was especially visible in chapter 5 of
The Fifth Element," the review said. "While
Bruce Willis' character was sitting on his bed rubbing
his face, a strange shadow appeared along his jaw and
neck. It looked like a quantization error."
