Sharp Drops LCD HDTV Prices
Other TV makers expected to offer discounts prior to the holidays.

That's according to an article by TWICE Magazine.
The publication reports that several TV makers are likely to soon offer set discounts before the holidays. However, Samsung, Sony and LG refused to say when -- and by how much -- they would reduce their prices.
By cutting prices in October, the set manufacturers apparently are seeking to build momentum for their brands going into the holiday season.

Sharp told TWICE that it will cut $300 off the following 52-inch Aquos LCD HDTVs:
LC-52D92U (which drops $4,499 to $4,199),
LC-52D82U (drops from $4,099 to $3,799);
LC-52D64U (drops from $3,799 to $3,499)
The TV maker will cut $100 off the following 37-inch LCD sets:
LC-37GP1U (drops from $1,999 to $1,899),
LC-37D62U (drops from $1,899 to $1,799)
LC-37D43U (drops from $1,599 to $1,499)
