Showtime Courts Emmy Voters With Free Preview

Washington, D.C.
(May 24, 2012)
-- Showtime will target Emmy voters next month with a free
preview on DIRECTV and in New York and Los Angeles on Time
Warner Cable systems.
The free preview, which will occur from June 15 to June 17, is designed
to woo Emmy support for such shows as Dexter, Homeland and
Shameless, among others. The preview weekend will include
marathons of the shows just listed as well as House of Lies,
Nurse Jackie and The Big C.
The premium channel is not hiding its intentions with the free
preview.
"Given our incredibly strong slate of
original programming this year, our goal was to
cut through the clutter and create seamless
access for Emmy voters to view as many
back-to-back episodes of our
critically-acclaimed series as possible," Trisha
Cardoso, executive VP of Showtime, said in a
statement. "This free preview weekend
complements our online streaming efforts. Now
voters have a chance to watch our award-winning
series on air and online."
The Emmy voters will be casting their ballots in
June with the nominations announced on July 19.
