Washington, D.C.
(March 25, 2007)
-- It's been said that High-Definition TV's picture is
so clear that it will drive some celebrities to get a
face lift.
But apparently KISS front man Gene Simmons would rather get a face lift in high-def.
Gene Simmons Family Jewels, the reality show starring the KISS singer, which airs on A&E and A&E HD, tonight will feature Simmons and girlfriend Shannon Tweed getting face lifts.
The stunt will kick off the launch of the show's second season, airing tonight at 9 p.m. ET.

Simmons tells the New York Post that the face lift was A&E's idea. But the network says the duo were planning to get the facial surgery and they decided to film it as part of the show.
Simmons, perhaps best known for wearing wild stage makeup during KISS performances, says he's happy with the final result although the high-def production make it a challenge.
"It was very complex but we've got a great crew. The doctor drew lines on the floor, told the cameramen where to go, what to do. Because as he's cutting our faces open, he can't have a light blinding him and go, "Oops!" You can't do "oops!" while cutting my face," Simmons told the newspaper.
Note: The episode will air again on A&E HD. Consult your on-screen guide for listings.
