Washington, D.C. (April 5, 2007) -- Comcast is adding the final season of HBO's The Sopranos to its HD On Demand menu.

The first episode of the last season premieres this Sunday at 9 p.m. ET.

Shortly after each week's episode airs on HBO, Comcast viewers will be able to watch the show in HD by accessing the HBO On Demand menu.

The original airing will also be available in high-def on HBO's HDTV channel.

The Sopranos
, which stars James Gandolfini as crime boss Tony Soprano, has arguably been television's top drama since its first season in 1999. However, some critics said last season, which closed in June, lacked focus and too often indulged in boring subplots.

The final season, which will have nine episodes, is expected to close the chapter on the family saga although creator David Chase has hinted there may be a film version.
