Britney's Flaws First Exposed by HDTV
Phillip Swann's review of Spears' 2004 high-def concert described her as looking "bumpy and puffy."
Special to TVPredictions.com

Washington, D.C. (June 30, 2006) -- The date was March 28, 2004. Britney Spears was arguably at the height of her popularity and regarded as one of America's top sex symbols.

However, on that day, after seeing the pop tart's live concert in High-Definition TV on Showtime, Phillip Swann
predicted that Spears' career would soon take a fall. He said that the crystal-clear HD picture (and sound) revealed that Spears was much less talented and attractive than perceived.

"In HD, (Britney's) face was bumpy and puffy, making her appear five to 10 years older than her years," wrote Swann, aka 'Swanni,' and the president of TVPredictions.com.
"Although still charming and appealing, she doesn't possess the physical sizzle in HDTV that she exhibits in her music videos such as 'Toxic'."

Swanni's prediction about Britney seems to have come true -- and is more evidence that celebrities can't hide their flaws from the ultra-realistic HD cameras. (See:
Swanni's Famous HDTV Reviews) Spears today is struggling to regain her popularity and many critics have commented that her beauty and talent may have been hyped.

"
Spears agreed to (a recent NBC) interview ostensibly to improve her image, which has been battered by the media," The Washington Post recently wrote. "But it was hard to concentrate on Spears' call for a cease-fire. Pearlized eye shadow was caked on her lids. Her cheeks looked as though they had been smudged with cherry soda. Her lips appeared to be slathered with Bonne Bell lip smackers. Her hair looked overbleached and uncombed."

In the 2004 review, Swann said that Spears' voice sounded weak in the HD broadcast, which was done in Dolby Digital 5.1. He said that the singer's physical and musical weaknesses would likely soon be exposed in forums beyond HDTV.

He also said that Spears seemed to be the beneficiary of careful image consultants who had been able to hide her limited skills and beauty.

"Interestingly, Showtime featured very few close-ups of Spears' face, opting mostly to display long shots of the singer shaking her booty during long dance numbers," he wrote after watching the 2004 concert in high-def. "Hmm, wonder why?"
