6. The Barbara Walters Oscar Special
If the reports are true, this will be Babs' last pre-Oscar special after 29 years of asking people what kind of tree would they be if they happened to be, well, a tree. Tonight's interviewees include award-magnet Sandra Bullock who has 'branched' out to comedy and drama in recent years. Perhaps that makes her a special kind of tree, Barbara.
ABC, 7 p.m.
7. NBA Basketball Doubleheader
The hapless Washington Wizards -- yes, they have no hap whatsoever -- play the Boston Celtics. Trail Blazers at Nuggets in game two.
ESPN, 8 p.m.
8. The 82nd Annual Academy Awards
Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin co-host Hollywood's annual salute to itself. Tonight's show has a twist, however, with 10 movies nominated for Best Picture; kinda of like having your own Multiplex to choose from. Presenters and likely award winners tonight will include Jeff Bridges, Penelope Cruz, Miley Cyrus, Matt Damon, Cameron Diaz, Tina Fey, Tom Hanks, Samuel L. Jackson, Anna Kendrick, Jennifer Lopez, Rachel McAdams, Sean Penn (look out stageside photographers); Amanda Seyfried, Ben Stiller, Charlize Theron and John 'The Toup' Travolta.
