November 30: Swanni's 10 Hottest Shows In HDTV!

By Swanni

Washington, D.C. (November 30, 2008) -- High-Definition TVs are now in more than 30 million U.S. homes and there are scores of high-def programming choices.

But which shows should you watch? And why?

Every day here at TVPredictions.com, I scan the HD programming aisles and serve up 10 programs so good -- so hot! -- that you can't miss them. Sports, movies, primetime comedies and drama -- they're all there and in beautiful high-def.

We call this list, "The Hottest Shows in HDTV!" And here they are for Sunday, November 30, 2008: (All times Eastern -- and don't forget the link below to today's 'HD Hotties --
in fact, there are five of them!)

1. NFL Football
The season enters week thirteen. Check your local listings for times and teams.
CBS, Fox, starting at 1 p.m.

2. The Strangers

Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman star as a young couple who's terrorized in their own home by a collection of mask-wearing strangers. Taut, suspenseful drama was inspired by the Manson Family murders of the 1960s.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Liv Tyler.

HD VOD, various times, cable and satellite.

3. Charlie Wilson's War
Tom Hanks stars as the real-life Texas congressman who spent the 1980s juggling a bevy of beautiful babes while secretly supplying arms to the anti-Russian resistance movement in Afghanistan. As an ex-newspaper reporter who 'covered' Wilson during this period (yes, I'm that old.), Hanks does a masterful job of capturing the essence of  'Goodtime Charlie.' Julia Roberts plays a Wilson girlfriend/fundraiser while Amy Adams is his obligatory hot administrative assistant. (And Wilson had a lot of obligatory hot congressional assistants in his office.)

HBO,
6:45 p.m.

4
. Football Night In America
A recap of the day's best plays and games hosted by a cast of thousands including Keith Olbermann, Dan Patrick and Bob Costas.

NBC, 7 p.m.

5. NFL Football
Chicago at Minnesota.
NBC, 8:15 p.m.

6. Dexter (new)
The program descript says Dexter and Miguel (Jimmy Smits) compete for the upper hand. Uh-oh. That could become a severed hand real quick.
Showtime, 9 p.m.

7. Desperate Housewives (new)
Program descript: "For Carlos and Gaby (Eva Longoria), injuries sustained in a fire lead to a happy discovery." What, that they eventually heal? I guess some people see a silver lining in everything.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Eva Longoria.
ABC, 9 p.m.

8.
Cold Case
Kathryn Morris gets the skinny (and, boy, is she skinny!) on the murder of a young politician who vowed to clean up illegal drugs in his neighborhood.
CBS, 9 p.m.

9. Californication (new)
Hank, a sex-addicted Hollywood type played by a real-life sex-addicted Hollywood type (David
Duchovny), has to wait for some test results, or so the program descript says. Can't imagine what that test could be for.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Madeline Zima of Californication.
Showtime, 10 p.m.

10. The Bourne Ultimatum
Matt Damon stars in the third in the trilogy about a contract assassin who battles bouts of amnesia while hired gunmen are trying to kill him.
And you think you're having it tough this Thanksgiving weekend with the relatives?
See our "HD Hottie' profile of BU's Julia Stiles
HBO, Midnight.
