Dec. 7: Swanni's 10 Hottest Shows In HDTV!

Washington, D.C. (December 7, 2008) -- High-Definition TVs are now in more than 30 million U.S. homes and there are scores of high-def programming choices.

But which shows should you watch? And why?

 Every day here at TVPredictions.com, I scan the HD programming aisles and serve up 10 programs so good -- so hot! -- that you can't miss them. Sports, movies, primetime comedies and drama -- they're all there and in beautiful high-def.

We call this list, "The Hottest Shows in HDTV!" And here they are for Sunday, December 7, 2008: (All times Eastern -- and don't forget the link below to today's 'HD Hottie -- in fact, today there are four of them!

 1. Lara Croft Doubleheader
 TNT serves up a double helping of Angelina Jolie as the video game hero Lara Croft who slays men with deadly weapons and even deadlier good looks. (Purple prose alert!) In the first movie, it's Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and in the nightcap at 1:30 p.m. it's Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Cradle of Life.

TNT, 11:30 a.m.

 2. NFL Football
The season enters week fourteen. Check your local listings for times and teams.
CBS, Fox, starting at 1 p.m.

3. 60 Minutes
 Lesley Stahl visits Saudi Arabia and discovers that the sheiks are not worried about dropping oil prices.
CBS, 7 p.m.

4. Football Night In America
A recap of the day's best plays and games hosted by a cast of thousands including Keith Olbermann, Dan Patrick and Bob Costas.
NBC, 7 p.m.

5. NFL Football
Washington at Baltimore.
NBC, 8:15 p.m.

 6. Dexter (new)
Dexter prepare for his big wedding day, but first must find a way to get rid of Miguel, his Best Man. Uh-oh, bye-bye Jimmy Smits.
Showtime, 9 p.m.

7. Desperate Housewives (new)
 Program descript: "Carlos realizes the sacrifices that Gaby (Eva Longoria), has made for the family." Wait a minute, isn't this the same Gaby who's had an affair with every guy on Wisteria Lane?  Dear God, she's sacrifices about as often as Manny Ramirez!

ABC, 9 p.m.

8. House of Saddam
No, it's not a documentary on your neighborhood carpet store. It's a four-part docudrama on the Butcher of Baghdad himself! Tonight, parts one and two. Parts three and four are next week. And if I recall correctly, Saddam himself will become parts by the time the series ends.
HBO, 9 p.m.

 9. Californication (new)
Hank, a sex-addicted Hollywood type played by a real-life sex-addicted Hollywood type (David Duchovny), attends a party to celebrate the publishing of Mia's (Madeline Zima) book.

Showtime, 10 p.m.

10. Bound
Gina Gershon stars in this lesbian-tinged mystery about a woman who steals $2 million from her gangster/boyfriend. Hot flick.
