6. NBA Basketball Doubleheader
Spurs vs. Hawks, followed by Trail Blazers at Suns.
ESPN, 8 p.m.
7. Life (new)
Series debut. The long-awaited 11-part documentary about animals and their fight for survival is beautifully filmed, using stop-action photography and penetrating close-ups that will leave you speechless; it's the best showcase for high-def in years.
However, I have to add that Life should be called Death; the first episode is filled with scenes of animals devouring animals; definitely not for the kids. Seriously, the body count in the first 10 minutes of tonight's show is higher than a single Terminator movie! That said, if you don't mind the grisly scenes, don't miss this landmark show.
Discovery, Animal Planet, Discovery Science and other Discovery channels (it's everywhere, folks.), 8 p.m.
8. The Pacific
(new)
Part two of Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg's 10-part series on WWII's last theater of war -- The Pacific. Tonight, the Marines dig in for what is becoming the bloodiest battle of the war, Guadalcanal.
HBO, 9 p.m.
9. Desperate Housewives (new)
Tonight,
Katherine (Dana Delany) comes out of the closet -- thanks to the town stripper Robin (Julie Benz from Dexter).
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Julie Benz.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Eva Longoria.
ABC, 9 p.m.
10. The Celebrity Apprentice
(new)
Tonight, another "celebrity" is sent packing; oh, the humanity!
