-- Discovery HD Theater is inviting viewers to submit
their ideas for the perfect sunrise in High-Definition
TV. And one lucky person will be selected to win a trip
to one of the destinations later this year.
The campaign is part of a promotion for Discovery HD Theater's Sunrise Earth series. The show, which was named to Swanni's 20 Best Shows In HDTV list, features high-def images of a beautiful locale at sunrise. It airs weekdays at 7 a.m. ET.
Discovery says it will select five final locations in the "Sunrise Earth Viewers Choice" campaign, which will air in the fourth quarter.
"Almost everyone can remember a time in their lives when they witnessed a magical sunrise so we are letting the fans decide the next season of Sunrise Earth," said Clint Stinchcomb, executive vice president and general manager of HDTV and New Media for Discovery Communications. "With so many amazing locations around the world, the real challenge will be narrowing the choices down to five!"

Viewers can submit as many nominations as they wish and even send pictures of their locations through the Sunrise Earth message board. Over the course of four weeks, Discovery will review the submissions and narrow down the list to 20 finalists. Then, all viewers will be invited to vote for the final five.

The winner, who will accompany the Sunrise Earth crew as they film an episode, will be chosen randomly from among the voters. In addition to the trip, the winner will receive a home video package with which they can shoot their own sunrise alongside Sunrise Earth producer David Conover.
