A reader recently asked me for a recommendation for a
flat-panel HDTV for her 15-year-old son. Her budget:
$600-700.
Well, according to a review by PC Magazine, the
Syntax Olevia 32-inch LT32HV seems like a smart choice.
The flat-panel set, which is now available for $699 at
Office Deport, delivers a "solid image quality at a very
affordable price," the publication stated in the review.

The Syntax Olevia 32-inch LCD HDTV.
On the down side, PC Magazine says the LCD TV
doesn't include individual color/brightness/contrast
settings for different inputs, lacks a HDMI input and a
HDTV tuner. (You would need to connect a cable or
satellite receiver to get high-def signals.)
But, overall, PC Magazine says the price is right
and gives the set a score of 3.5 stars out of a possible
5.
"With
a combination of impressive performance and a nice
price, the Syntax Olevia LT32HV 32 delivers good bang
for the buck in an LCD HDTV.
LT32HV," the review said.
