May 13: Swanni's 10 Hottest Shows In HDTV!

By Swanni

Washington, D.C. (May 13, 2010) -- High-Definition TVs are now in more than 40 million U.S. homes and there are scores of high-def programming choices.

But which shows should you watch? And why?

Every day here at TVPredictions.com, I scan the HD programming aisles and serve up 10 programs so good -- so hot! -- that you can't miss them. Sports, movies, primetime comedies and drama -- they're all there and in beautiful high-def.

We call this list, "The Hottest Shows in HDTV!" And here they are for Thursday, May 13, 2010: (All times Eastern -- and don't forget the link below to today's 'HD Hottie -- in fact, today there are 4 of them!

1. Slumdog Millionaire
Director Danny Boyle's Oscar-winning film about a poor Indian teen who wins the big bucks in a nationally televised game show but almost loses it all when government officials question his uncanny ability to answer the show's questions. Fun movie with multiple strong performances from the unknown cast.

Cinemax West, 7 p.m.

2
. MLB Baseball
Mets at Marlins.
MLB Network, 7 p.m.

3. NBA Playoffs
Cavs at Celtics in game six. Celtics up, 3-2.
ESPN, 8 p.m.

4. Bones
(new)
Program descript: "
Everyone tries to find evidence to help convict The Gravedigger." My guess is that his name alone would be enough for most juries.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Emily Deschanel.
Fox, 8 p.m.

Bonus Pick:
Disturbia
Shia LaBeouf stars as a troubled teen who thinks he sees a murder next door in this modern day remake of Rear Window. The film is targeted at the teen set, but it delivers plenty of thrills for all. Sarah Roemer plays the obligatory hot next-door neighbor/girlfriend.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Sarah Roemer.
TBS, 8 p.m.

5. MLS Soccer
Houston Dynamo at Real Salt Lake.
ESPN 2, 9 p.m.

6. CSI (new)
Program descript: "
A former colleague accuses Langston of being part of the Dr. Jekyll murders." Think Langston is a little young for the Dr. Jekyll murders.
CBS, 9 p.m.

7. Fringe
(new)
J.J. Abrams' second favorite wackfest is back with new episodes, Tonight, Walter and Olivia (Anna Torv) traveled to that other universe (no, not the one in Lost; that J.J. Abrams' other, other universe) to do battle with the mysterious William Bell (Leonard Nimoy).
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Anna Torv.
Fox, 9 p.m.

8. The Incredible Hulk
Edward Norton stars in a cerebral edition of the Hulk (except, of course, when he gets angry; you won't like him when he gets  angry.). Liv Tyler comes along for the ride as his obligatory hot lab assistant and love interest. William Hurt and a very short Tim Roth chew the scenery as Tyler's general/Dad and a wacko military officer respectively. A diverting two hours with some appropriately cheesy CGI effects.
See our 'HD Hottie' profile of Liv Tyler.

Cinemax West, 11 p.m.

9. The Tonight Show With Jay Leno (new)
Tonight's guests include Garry Shandling who will wander by to hawk his latest movie, Iron Man 2.

10. Late Night With David Letterman (new)
Tonight's guests include Alec Baldwin who will wander by to hawk the season close of 30 Rock, among other things.
